Peter Mayhew of Star Wars roars into Cincy Expo!
Peter Mayhew is best known for his portrayal of Chewbacca in the Star Wars films. Prior to his work on Star Wars, Peter Mayhew was cast in the role of a Minotuar on a previous movie. The producers discovered Mayhew from a photograph in a newspaper article about men with large feet. Mayhew's portrayal of the Minotaur impressed several film industry employees, who offered him a chance to act for more movies; he accepted. After finishing his work as the Minotaur, Mayhew received a phonecall from 20th Century Fox, who informed him of the production for Star Wars: A New Hope and asked him to audition for one of the characters. Comic legend George Perez returns to the 5th annual Cincinnati Comic Expo!
George first started in comics in 1973 as an assistant to Rich Buckler, working on a back-up story in Astonishing Tales #25. His first solo assignments came a year later when he penciled the story Sons of the Tiger from the black and white magazine Deadly Hands of Kung-Fu, and Man-Wolf from Creatures on the Loose. Jewel Staite of "Firefly", "Serenity" and "Stargate: Atlantis" to attend Cincy Expo!
Jewel Staite was born in White Rock, British Columbia. The youngest of seven children, she modeled as a child and has acted since age six. She has stated that she is of British, Irish, French Canadian, and Iroquois ancestry. Staite attended the Vancouver Film School and worked at the Vancouver Youth Theatre.
